About The Therapist

Janet is a Counsellor/Psychotherapist specialising in helping people overcome problems arising from relationship difficulties, divorce and bereavement. Janet has 18 years experience in working in the mental health field in the NHS. She has published papers on mental health to the Royal College of Science in London and written a book for patients suffering from depression. Janet also treats anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, behavioural difficulties and sexual difficulties. Janet also works with couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship.

Janet has an M.A. in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an M.Sc in Health Psychology. She also has a Diploma in Counselling Supervision and supervises psychotherapists and counsellors. Janet also supervises University Counselling students. Janet also has a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and is a Member of the International Association of Hypnotherapists. In addition, Janet has a Diploma in Life Coaching.

Janet is also a Senior Lecturer at a London University.. In addition to her private practice in Caversham, Reading, Janet works as a Counselling Supervisor for two Agencies in the Public Sector where she deals with a wide spectrum of client issues, including drug and alcohol issues.

Janet is a Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BAC)) and adheres to their Code of Ethics and Practice. She is also registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors (UKRC) and also adheres to their Code of Ethics.
